Montgomery Publishing, Inc. is part of Emmerich Newspapers, a Mississippi-based, family-owned company which began in McComb, Mississippi, by John Oliver Emmerich, Sr. in 1923 when he purchased The Enterprise in McComb.
Today, Emmerich Newspapers still owns that flagship McComb paper, now a daily paper known as the Enterprise Journal. It is one of 26 daily and weekly newspapers in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
In 1989, Emmerich Newspapers formed Montgomery Publishing, Inc. and purchased The Winona Times newspaper, which has published in Montgomery County since 1881.
Today, Montgomery Publishing, Inc. continues to report local sports and news of Montgomery County through The Winona Times. However, we also produce an annual magazine, Crossroads Today, a Montgomery County phone book, and many other niche publications including Wedding Belles, Diamond Days, a Graduation special, Woman of the Year, Basketball Preview, Christmas Greetings, and our award-winning Holiday Gift Guide and Football Preview.
The Winona Times is a paid-circulation weekly newspaper published each and every Thursday for the residents of Montgomery County. The official record of Montgomery County, The Winona Times provides award-winning reporting of LOCAL news and sports for Winona, Duck Hill, Kilmichael, Stewart, Poplar Creek, and everywhere in between. For government, schools, development, society, and local high school and recreational sports news, look no further than The Winona Times.
