NORTH CARROLLTON -- Funeral services for Don Gray of North Carrollton were held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Winona, with burial following in Gore Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Gore Springs. Rev. Eddie Carpenter and Rev. Fletcher Moorman officiated the services.
Visitation was Saturday, December 1, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home.
Mr. Gray died of cancer at his residence on Tuesday, November 27. He was 55 years old.
Mr. Gray was a farmer and former sheriff of Carroll County. He was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church near Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Rivers Gray.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Rob, of Magee; son, Chip Gray of North Carrollton; stepdaughter, Jill Roy and her husband, Larry, of North Carrollton; his parents; John and Willo Dene Gray of Grenada; brother, Gregg Gray of Gore Springs; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Alton Turnipseed, Kenneth DeLoach, Carl DeLoach, Sidney DuBard, Gary Blair, and Alvin Upchurch. Honorary pallbearers were C. D. Whitfield, Ralph Self, Bruce Heath, Lloyd Ashmore, Al Malone, and Neal Blaylock.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
