CARROLLTON - Funeral services for Sally Peggy Braswell Dunaway of Carrollton were held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Oliver Chapel with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to service time. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dunaway, 78, died Monday, November 16, 2009, of cancer. She was a member of Waller Baptist Church in Bossier City, La., and the National Association of Uniformed Services. An avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, she loved the outdoors, her pokeeno group and cooking for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Odell Dunaway; her parents, Edd and Ollie Braswell; two sons, Grady Easom, Jr., and Craig Alan Dunaway; and nine brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Anderson and her husband, Tom, of Houston, Texas, and Dixie Carpenter and her husband, Mike, of Carrollton; her sons, Brian Dunaway and his wife, Diane, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Gregory Dunaway and his wife, Reyna, of Miami, Fla.; her grandchildren, Stacy Anderson, Anna Irwin (Jimmy), Crystal Adams (Kyle), Michelle Bosarge, Bryan Dunaway, Jeremy Dunaway, Michael Dunaway, Joshua Dunaway, James Dunaway, and Allissa Dunaway; and 11 great-grandchildren.

This was a great woman who showed me a lot about life.

She helped to give me a strong work ethic, and strived to teach all of us how to be a FAMILY.
