With more than a week to prepare for it's next game, Winona boys basketball coach Presley Coleman is hopeful the Tigers will finally be able to secure a first win of the season. Following the Christmas break, Winona will begin MHSAA Region 2-2A play Tuesday with a home game against Leflore County.
While the Winona Christian boys were struggling in fourth periods, the Lady Stars were picking up a win.
The Stars lost two games at the Columbus Christian tournament after leading both games in the fourth period, falling 47-36 to Nanih Waiya and 48-41 to Columbus.

The Lady Rebels brought home the only win of the week as they beat Indianola 41-38 while they lost 43-34 to Washington and 58-21 to Kirk.
The J.Z. George Jaguars picked up a 61-53 victory over Starkville Academy last week during the East Webster Christmas Classic.
It was one of three games the Jaguars played. They dropped a 76-48 loss to East Webster and a 64-31 decision to Baldwyn.
Carroll Academy will make the short trip north to Grenada to participate in the Kirk Classic starting on Thursday.
The tournament will open on Thursday at noon as the Carroll girls will take on Washington. The boys will follow at 1:15 p.m.
