Not only was it a long week for the Winona Christian basketball teams, it was not as productive as they had hoped.
The Stars lost all three contests they played as they dropped two to Oak Hill by scores of 48-44 and 43-32. They also lost a 51-33 decision to Central Holmes last Monday.
The J.Z. George basketball teams dropped a pair of Region 3-3A games to Yazoo County in action last week.
Yazoo County defeated the Jaguars 70-40 in the boys game.
The Panthers led 15-8 after the first quarter. Yazoo County then outpointed J.Z. George 20-6 in the second period and led 35-14 at the half.

The Winona Christian School Lady Stars grabbed two big wins last week as they downed Benton 43-24 and Jackson Victors 49-41.
The Stars also grabbed a 56-29 win over Benton in district play while falling 63-48 to the Victors on Friday night.

The J.Z. George Jaguars battled back from a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter to fall just short in a 73-68 loss to Charleston in prep basketball action.
The game was tied at 16-16 after the first quarter. The Jaguars outscored Charleston 16-15 in the second quarter and led 32-31 at the half.
