Loper accepts guilty plea

WINONA -- Judge Joseph Loper, Jr. accepted a plea agreement between the district attorney’s office and Eric Tashaun McClain of Kilmichael recently in Montgomery County Circuit Court.

McClain, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a deadly weapon by a felon and one count of the sale of a Schedule III controlled substance (hydrocodone/acetamin).

He was sentenced to 20 years with 10 years suspended and 10 years of post release supervision and a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and assessments for count two. For count one, he was sentenced to five years to run concurrently with the sentence for count two.
