Mrs. Mary Sue Fant Lennard, 86, passed away December 1, 2013. Mrs. Lennard was born on April 3, 1927 in Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1944, and attended Louisiana State University and Mississippi State University. She was a teacher at the Little Red School House and North Greenwood Baptist Church Kindergarten. She was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church for over fifty-seven years. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Greenwood, Four Seasons Garden Club and the Early Families Club of Greenwood.

Mrs. Lennard was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Mary Nell Fant of Greenwood and her brother Jim Fant of Fitzgerald, Ga.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Jake Crabtree Lennard of Greenwood, her son, Dr. Jake Lennard and his wife Carlene of Amarillo, Texas, her daughters, Susan Smith and her husband Jim of Bexley, Ohio, and Jane Moss and her husband Randy of Greenwood, her sister, Nancy Hora, of Mobile, Ala. and her sister in law, Joyce Fant of Fitzgerald, Ga. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, Brian Lennard and his wife Lauren of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Adrienne Durand and her husband James of Los Angeles, Ca., Luke Lennard and his wife Madeline of Amarillo, Texas, Katherine Smith of Bexley, Ohio, Chris Smith, Kelly Smith, Jason Moss and Valerie Moss all of Greenwood and four great grandchildren, Ashley and Dylan Durand of Los Angeles, Ca., Brooke Lennard of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas and Luke Jackson Lennard of Amarillo, Texas.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at North Greenwood Baptist Church with visitation just prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Jim Phillips officiated. Her grandsons served as her pallbearers along with Adam Fowler, Ronnie Sanders, Dennis Moss and James Malone. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home of Greenwood in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Henry Flautt for his friendship, love and care. In lieu of flowers her family wishes that donations be made to North Greenwood Baptist Church.
