WINONA -- The Winona Tigers had a good spring break, and heading into district play, head coach Patrick Nutt wants to finish out the month of March very strong.

"We have several tough district games coming up," Nutt said. "The ideal situation for us would be to finish out this month strong."

The Tigers begin district play tomorrow when they travel to Aberdeen to kick off the 4-3A slate.

The Tiger then travel to Starkville High on Saturday and will return home Tuesday to finish the series with Aberdeen.

"We'll see some tough teams following Aberdeen," Nutt said. "But we've had a couple of great practices, and I think we're prepared."

The Tigers walked away from the annual Med Stat Tournament with three wins. The Tigers knocked off Provine 9-1, Ethel 5-4 and Kossuth 4-2. During Spring Break, the Tigers got a win over Leake 18-5, but lost to both Grenada and Choctaw County.
