POPLAR CREEK - The community is mourning the loss of a 17-year-old girl, killed in a one-car collision Monday morning.

Miracle Faith Donahoo, 17, of French Camp died from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on March 24, 2014.

According to Tony Dunn, spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol, officers and rescue units were dispatched at 11:29 a.m. to a one-car accident on Highway 413, just south of Williams Road. Troopers, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, the Winona Fire Department and the Poplar Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call.

Dunn said Donahoo was traveling south on Highway 413 in a 2005 Toyota MTX when the vehicle lost control in a curve and traveled to the right shoulder. Dunn said the driver apparently overcorrected, swerving back to the left shoulder, then back to the right, spinning around and colliding with a tree on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Donahoo was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy coroner James Waggoner.

Dunn said the accident is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

A visitation for Donahoo was held last night from 5 until 8 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for today at 2 p.m. at Oliver Chapel with burial in the Community Baptist Cemetery near Kilmichael.
