Deputies investigate shooting

NORTH CARROLLTON -- The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has apprehended two suspects who are both connected with a shooting in North Carrollton Tuesday night.

According to sheriff’s investigator Rob Banks, the sheriff’s department responded to the call of a shots fired at the Shell Convenience Store in North Carrollton around 8:45.

“There were multiple shots fired, between two parties,” Banks said. “Both parties involved were the victim as well as the suspect.”

Banks, who would not release the names of the suspects, said one of them was injured in the shooting and treated for injuries at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

“After being treated for flesh wound injuries, he was released and placed under arrest,” Banks said.

Banks said there were two people involved in the shooting, and both were placed under arrest.

“It appears they were shooting at each other,” Banks said.

Banks said an investigation in ongoing, with charges pending.
