CARROLLTON -- The Carroll Academy Lady Rebels jumped out of the gate this season with a seven-game winning streak.

The Lady Rebels, currently 7-0, have picked up early season wins against Winona Christian, Pillow Academy, and Jackson Prep.

In that game, Avery Thornton got things started with an RBI, scoring Megan Shelton, who later had an RBI of her own. Sydney Claire Liddell also had an RBI.

In the much-anticipated tournament at Winona Christian, the Lady Rebels defeated Winona in the semifinals and the finals.

In the semifinals, Hope Clanton got the win for the Lady Rebels in a 9-1 win. Ashtyn Carpenter and Megan Shelton had singles and Cori McCrary added four RBIs.

In the tournament finals, the Lady Rebels got the win behind multiple hits from McCrary and Carpenter. Madison Womble added a triple, and the Lady Rebels got two hits from Shelton and Liddell.

After knocking off Winona 17-0 Tuesday, the Lady Rebels will travel to Kirk on Thursday.
