Charlotte Duggins Turner, 84, of Greenwood passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Visitation was from 12 p.m. until service time. Rev. Dennis McKay officiated.

CA JR HIgh Student Council gives back

Members of Carroll Academy's Middle School Student Council, sponsored as the Douglas Carroll Junior American Citizens by Third Arrow Chapter, Mississippi Society Daughters of the American Revolution, donated food items, helped prepare plates and served area "shut-ins" with the ladies of  "Women on Mission" at the North Carrollton Baptist Church

Local guardsmen deploying

Next Monday, just before dawn, guardsmen from the Mississippi National Guard 2-114th Bravo Battery Field Artillery will leave the armories in Winona and Kosciusko for more than a year of overseas deployment. 

Approximately 85 guardsmen from Winona and Kosciusko armories will be deploying.  Their destination has not been disclosed.


Clara “Bea” Parker

Clara “Bea” Parker, 86, of Carrollton went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2018.  Bea was born March 22, 1932, in Black Hawk.  Bea met Alton Randall “Randy” Parker when they were both children in Vaiden, and became great friends and playmates.  Bea and Randy married January 13, 1948, in Winona.  After marrying, Bea and Randy lived across the co
