Charlotte Duggins Turner, 84, of Greenwood passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Visitation was from 12 p.m. until service time. Rev. Dennis McKay officiated.

Lost Dog

On March 17, Bubba was let out and he ran off with a puppy friend from Stewart Weir Road in Stewart at Burton Rd.    Bubba is a chocolate lab mix, four to six months old, has a white blaze on his chest and green eyes, and weighs 30 pounds.  He had on a collar when he left.  He has an ID microchip.  If you find Bubba, please call 601-940-2753 an



Teen killed in I55 crash

WINONA -- A Jackson teen was killed Friday night in a one-car accident on Interstate 55 in Montgomery County.

According to Montgomery County Coroner Allan Pratt, the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center received a call around 8:45 p.m. Friday, May 4 reporting an accident on Interstate 55 north of Highway 82.

Members of Carroll Academy's Middle School Student Council, sponsored as the Douglas Carroll Junior American Citizens by Third Arrow Chapter, Mississippi Society Daughters of the American Revolution, donated food items, helped prepare plates and served area "shut-ins" with the ladies of  "Women on Mission" at the North Carrollton Baptist Church
