Lewis R. Hodges, Jr.

Lewis R. Hodges, Jr., 66, of Carrollton, died Thursday, January 18, 2018, at University Medical Center in Grenada. Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 23 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation was at 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. Lanny Haley officiated.
Lewis was born August 3, 1951, to Lewis Rodgers Hodges, Sr. and Genella Sullivan Hodges. He enjoyed many careers in his life; most notably his years spent becoming a master of his trade with mosquito management. Lewis was known by many as the mosquito man. Lewis was a simple man who believed in hard work and taking care of his family so his time spent outside of work was with his kids and grandkids who all know they were his world. Lewis was always glad to help a friend in need and had many friends in his life. He was preceded in death by his son, Hart Turner, sister, Rebecca Clanton, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Missy Hodges Scarborough and husband Johnny of Pensacola, Fla; sons, James Lewis Hodges and wife Trisha of New Roads, La., and Trent Turner of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Taylor Hodges Scarborough of Pensacola, Fla.; James Lewis Hodges II, Austin Michael Hodges, Claude Blake Connor, Amanda Ross Conner of New Roads, La., Shelby Scarborough of Mt. Vernon, Ala.; brother, Heywood Hodges of Greenwood; sisters, Linda Lance of Greenwood, Janet Burden of Greenwood, and Ann Harrison of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
