Wilma Corley Tartt

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Corley Tartt of Winona were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County.  Rev. Billy Little, Rev. Reidis Nash, and Rev. Terry Corley officiated the services.
Visitation was on Saturday, October 14, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tartt, 87, died at her residence on Wednesday, October 11.  She was born on October 7, 1930, to James Christopher Columbus and Edna Cleo Barnes Byrd.  Tartt was lovingly known to her family and many friends as “Nanny.”  She was a retired employee of J. A. Olson Company and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Winona.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her first husband, Eddie Corley; sisters, Marie Marter and Opal Ezell; and brothers, James Byrd, Kenny Byrd, and Bob Byrd.
Mrs. Tartt is survived by her husband, Don Tartt of Winona; two daughters, Linda Briscoe (Roy) of Vaiden and Doris Prestridge (Benny) of Purvis; two sons, Rickie Corley (Becky) of Vaiden and Ronald Corley (Julia) of Vaiden; two sisters, Lola Mae Gurley of Corinth and Ann Nash (Rev. Reidis) of Winona; two brothers, Harold Byrd of Hurley and Donald Byrd of Memphis, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren;
26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Briscoe, Ben Prestridge, Eddie Corley, Brian Styron, Taylor Henson, Aubrey Goss, Corley Goss, and Spence Goss.  Honorary pallbearers were Luke Goss, Reid Blaylock, Braxton Leach, Rhett Blaylock, Drew Hamilton, Hunter Corley, Hayes Corley, and Brent Woods.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to BaBa Boys Special Fund, P. O. Box 6, Vaiden, MS  39176; Calvary Cemetery Fund; or a charity of the donor's choice.
